The Great Decline - Haumea

Another colony from my book project thing I'm still working on!

Haumea is one of the strangest inhabited worlds in the entire solar system.
It is one of the three dwarf planets located in the Kuiper Belt to have been colonized during the Golden Age.
This small world of rock and ice has the fastest rotation speed in the entire solar system, giving it a very pronounced elliptical shape.
These unique conditions cause enormous variations in the gravitational pull across the celestial body. In fact, gravity is much stronger at its extremities than at its center.

These gravitational anomalies made Haumea a perfect candidate for establishing a research center on gravitational manipulation, one of the potential solutions to the problem of interstellar travel.
